The Spiritual Path of Tantra, Connected to Kundalini Yoga
Tantra is an ancient, living, and deeply holistic spiritual path. Unlike certain ascetic approaches that seek to deny the world, Tantra embraces life in its entirety. It sees the divine present everywhere — in the body, emotions, relationships, and everyday experiences. It is an inner alchemy that transforms raw energy into awakened consciousness.
At the heart of Tantra lies the balance of the masculine and the feminine:
- The masculine principle (Shiva) represents consciousness, presence, structure, and clarity.
- The feminine principle (Shakti) embodies vital energy, creativity, movement, and fluidity.
Kundalini Yoga, often described as a tantric yoga, activates this Shakti (the Kundalini) along the spine to unite it with the consciousness of Shiva. This inner union brings harmony, vitality, and an expanded state of awareness. It reconciles the polarities within us: strength and softness, action and receptivity, intellect and intuition.
In My Practice
As a mixed‑heritage woman who has lived in contact with very diverse cultures, religions, and spiritualities, the Tantric path has touched me deeply. It allowed me to reconnect with ancestral African spiritualities while finding resonance with traditions from around the world — shamanism, pre‑colonial spiritualities, and the wisdom of First Peoples.
This approach was transmitted to me by my teacher Anand Sharabi (Jean‑Jacques Rigou), founder of the École du Tantra. It weaves together the power of Kundalini Yoga (in the lineage of Yogi Bhajan) with a therapeutic and human dimension inspired by Osho. Anand Sharabi was initiated by Yogi Bhajan and integrated Osho’s visionary contribution on a universal, joyful, and accessible spirituality.
This synthesis offers a white Tantra (non‑sexual in group practice) that remains deeply rooted in tradition while speaking directly to the men and women of today.
Tantra, combined with Kundalini Yoga, invites us to become more alive, more whole, and more free — reconciling body and mind, shadow and light, humanity and divinity. It is a path of love, presence, and celebration of life as it is.
Practiced with integrity and proper guidance, it becomes a powerful support for navigating our times with centeredness, creativity, and serenity.
White Tantra: The Quintessence of Kundalini Yoga
White Tantra is a powerful and ancestral ritual, considered the very essence of Kundalini Yoga practice. It offers a transformative experience that purifies and releases creative energy (Kundalini) wherever it is blocked, acting on all dimensions of being — physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual.
Guided by Anand Sharabi (Jean‑Jacques Rigou), founder and director of the École du Tantra, this ritual is practiced in a group setting. Participants sit in pairs (face‑to‑face), aligned with the other couples. The exercises draw on the main tools of Kundalini Yoga: postures, mantras, breathing techniques, rhythms, and meditations. The magnetic fields and energies of the two partners merge, creating a powerful flow that supports the opening of the chakras and a deep energetic cleansing for all participants.
By celebrating the union of the masculine and feminine principles within oneself and with another, White Tantra restores the sacred link between sexuality, the heart, and the spirit. It allows for a soul‑to‑soul communion, fostering the healing of karmic wounds, the awakening of Kundalini energy, the expansion of consciousness, and the opening of the heart.
Practical Information
- Clothing: loose, comfortable white garments (to strengthen the magnetic field, neutrality, clarity, and group harmony).
- Prerequisites: accessible to both beginners and experienced practitioners of Kundalini Yoga.
- Participation: it is not necessary to come as a couple. Couples are welcome and may find the experience deeply enriching for their relationship.
- Integration: the effects may continue unfolding for up to 90 days. A White Tantra session is often described as equivalent to several years of regular practice in terms of accelerating the evolutionary process.
My Journey
I took part in my first White Tantra in 2016 on the beautiful island of Ngor, organized by Maïtreya, founder of the Dakar branch of the École du Tantra and the person who initiated me into Kundalini Yoga. It was a foundational experience that profoundly opened my heart and my path.
In the years that followed, I had the privilege of participating several times in Tantra Alchemy in France — an intense retreat that includes several days of preparation followed by two days of the White Tantra ritual, bringing together more than a hundred participants. It is an experience of rare power and beauty, one that I wholeheartedly recommend.
A few years later, I joyfully took the torch by organizing a memorable White Tantra in March 2025 at the Mampuya Center in Toubab Dialaw. I am now preparing the next one, which will take place in 2027, in the heart of the Senegalese bush.
I look forward to welcoming a beautiful blend of souls: participants from Senegal and the surrounding region, as well as friends coming from France and beyond — including students from the École du Tantra and its various branches around the world.
White Tantra is a powerful gateway to greater presence, healing, and inner union. It invites us to live a spirituality that is embodied, joyful, and profoundly liberating.
